Enemy of the People Mitch McConnell needs to quit Putzing around on the next Stimulus Package

The Democrats in Congress, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer  want the next phase of stimulus to help people combat the Coronavirus to include funds for:

• Hospitals and other medical needs.
• Aid for states and local governments.
• Increased food stamp aid.
• Aid to small businesses not covered in the previous stimulus legislation.

A bipartisan group of Governors led by Maryland’s Larry Hogan and New York’s Andrew Cuomo have called for Congress to pass $500 billion in vital aid to the states because their budgets are being obliterated by the public health crisis.

What is the response of Enemy of the People-Political Prince of Darkness-Obstructionist in Chief-Legislative Grim Reaper-Moscow Mitch McConnell and his sidekick, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, to these requests?

No Deal.

The Republicans, claiming there is no immediate need in the areas the Democratic legislators and Governors are asking for just want to pass a $250 billion addition to the $350 small business loan program approved in the Cares Stimulus legislation from last month.

Both McConnell and McCarthy issued a joint statement which read in part:

“Republicans reject Democrats’ reckless threat to continue blocking job-saving funding unless we renegotiate unrelated programs which are not in similar peril.”

Not in similar peril?

Tell that to:

• The hospital workers that has to sew their own masks.
• The person who needs more food stamp aid to feed their children because their school can not give them enough free and reduced breakfasts or lunch.
• The State or Local government budget directors or treasurers who are seeing their balance sheets fall into the red.

Pelosi and Schumer have rightly told McConnell and McCarthy that there is no more additional aid going to small businesses unless their demands are met.

It is time for McConnell and McCarthy to stop putzing around with the next stimulus phase to combat the Coronavirus and pass legislation that will help small businesses, the medical profession, state and local governments, and hungry families.

If they do not, it is another reason for people to turn out and vote out these enemies of the people this November.
