A distinguished writer, David Fromkin, has recently passed away. His works, especially A Peace to End All Peace and In the time of the Americans should be read by all students and career public servants who want to appreciate the Middle East and the United States's role in the world today (a role that may be jeopardized by the new administration's policies on the environment and trade). He will be missed.
