More Bad Government: Trumpcare 3.0

Well the United States Senate (Republicans only) have unveiled their latest version of health care, one that will create death spirals on the individual insurance market and throw crumbs (John Kasich said this) to states in reference to the opioid crisis and Medicaid assistance. Still no hearings are scheduled and a vote on the motion to proceed is tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday. This is still a bad way to govern. Again, remember the Democrats in passing Obamacare debated health care for over a year, had hundreds of hearings and allowed many Republican amendments. Unlike the House though, the Senate has to wait for a C.B.O. score before proceeding to the final vote. The citizens of this country should fear the state of our health care if this bill passes. In fact, if recent polls are any indication, they do already. Who does support this? A group of ultra conservative business interests and freedom caucus disciples whose sole purpose is to dismantle government. The Republicans already have a conservative health care plan. It is called Obamacare and that was based on Romneycare which was pulled from the Heritage Foundation. Better to go bipartisan and fix that than proceed with this travesty. Otherwise, progressives and Democrats will have a strong rallying slogan for the people in 2018 and 2020: Medicare for All and that is not a bad idea to run on and implement.
