Adrian Peterson came back to the N.F.L. even after being found to have abused his child.
Ben Roethlisberger was accused of rape twice and was suspended for personal conduct violations. He came back to play.
Michael Vick participated in activities that killed and maimed dogs for sport. He played a few more seasons and is now an analyst for Fox Sports.
Colin Kaepernick's crime: He did not commit one and he is treated as a pariah by the N.F.L. for exercising his first amendment rights by kneeling during the national anthem to protest the overzealous treatment of African American citizens by bad cops.
Let Colin play. If the N.F.L. lets individuals with less character attributes have second chances, then Kaepernick deserves a job. They should not be swayed by a pompous blowhard who just happens to be President of the United States who seems to forget that people died for this country so people like Kaepernick could dissent in the tasteful fashion he has chosen. That is the true American Way.
