Hopefully this is an anomaly but the rate of uninsured without health insurance went up in the last quarter. Is this because of the measures the Trump Administration has been taking in league with the more conservative elements of Congress? We will know soon enough if this is a pattern and it will be traced to its root cause. In the meantime, Senator Lamar Alexander took to the Senate floor to argue for the health care stabilization bill and and Senator Murray forged. This bill has 24 co sponsors with 12 from each party. What is Senator McConnell waiting for? He still has not called for a vote on the Hatch-Wyden C.H.I.P. bill. Do the reactionary conservatives in this country want children and our most vulnerable to suffer? Does the Republican leadership they really think their base wants that? If that is their base, then the Republicans are not a mainstream political party anymore. You might as well turn the keys to the Bannons and the Mercers now because there would be no point of return. Democrats and Progressives should drive this issue home until there is a vote.
