It has been revealed that lobbyists connected to the pharmaceutical industry bought off several politicians and influenced legislation (to be fair signed by President Obama) that helped intensify the opioid crisis. This legislation serves as another example that we need political and campaign finance measures (probably in the form of amendments) that put a wall up between our public servants and the lobbyists that have been tempting them with fringe benefits. Public servants serve the people not themselves.
